Next, I want to show off some mockups of the upcoming revised UI design.
Major notes:
- Pause button will bring up the Action Menu, which has selections that can access: Inventory / Handcrafting / Statistics / Map / Options; respectively.
- Real-time menus. Inventory/stats/map menu won’t pause the game anymore. However, options will pause the game, and I’ll probably include a specific pause button.
- It may look like the item wheel is gone, but it’s instead hidden. Current plans include TWO item wheels (one for your weapon, one for auxiliary tools; represented by the healing paste here) with a button assigned for each one.
- In the new clock section, the hand will remain static, while the rest of the clock turns. The blue pie-like graphic will be later replaced with a nicer-looking background that’ll represent the sky, sun, and moon, so that it’s easier to tell the time of day.
- Items have the capability of “loading” items into them. This feature will replace arrow cycling.
Also, new stat icons:

Offense, Agility, Fortitude, Weight, Might, Clutch, Vigor, Attune, Accuracy,
Defense, Fire, Earth, Electric, Nature, Cold, Night, Poison
(grey icons are elemental defense stats)
Revisions:
- Clutch resembles Eily’s capability of keeping a firm grip.
- Removed “Tool Proficiency” stats. Instead, each tool type will be linked to different stats for their performance values.
- Removed Crit Multiplier stat, and replace Crit Chance with Accuracy. Critical attacks will be locked at 2x damage.
Any suggestions for improving the UI are welcome.
